My name is Priscilla Magnuson and I have been teaching for over 20 years, both in public and private schools. I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher and got my teaching degree from Northwestern State University in Louisiana. My goal is to have children fall in love with the printed word and I pursue that dream by encouraging them to read and write at every opportunity. I love poetry and find that children just need a little prompting to discover the poet who lives inside all of us.

Outside of school I have a husband who teaches high school and we have two grown children. I work with the high school ministry at my church, so I am involved with children in nearly all aspects of my life. I enjoy traveling, the company of friends, good food, and of course, books. I also belong to a book discussion group, so I truly practice what I preach.
